Has anyones horse had an adverse effect after being put to sleep for an operation?
My friend had her colt gelded recently. He had enough stuff to put out a Rhino as he had no intention of going to sleep.

When brought round it was instant up and off galloping
He then dozed but then realy laid into the vet kicking her all round the paddock.
He went on to hemourage needing dopeing again to sort it out - 3 lots to sedate him two hours after being put out cold
He recoverd but turned into a devil pony. Totally out of charactor evilness and total loony. One and a half weeks later he is back to himself but still in prison
Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Nope, but sounds scary, I'm about to have my little on gelded!!

My friend has had many gelded and this was a first so please do not let it scare you.
It was like the drugs effected his brain for while.
All the others have gone well so good luck and don't worry.

Maybe think about getting soem Agnus Castus from cotswold herbs (not expensive) grinding and feeding a tablespoon wiht each feed. It is a hormone normaliser - I use it with one of my geldings who gets very stressy when the mares are in season (not wanting to get to them, more terrified of them :))
