I finally ordered some of this for my horse's itchy tail after reading rave reviews, and it seems to be working which is fab :)

Does anyone know though if its ok to be used on horse's bodies like normal fly spray?? We're going to a show at the weekend where the flies and midges are absolutely awful and my normal fly spray didn't really do much last time there.

thanks in advance xxx

I tried this product for the first time a few weeks ago, (on myself because I have an insect phobia) in my friends tack shed (as they had some), the smell made me wretch and a little bit of vomit nearly came out.

Yes, as far as I know, it's safe to use as a normal flyspray, I've also heard it is really highly rated from many people and even used by the Army!

I had no reaction on my skin whatsoever. However, I advise nose plugs!

Well, its not that bad IMO, but it works and I think it smells OK. I use it on horse and myself at this time of year, and swear by it. Its funny stuff though because it sets hard if it gets cold. Wouldn't be without it ...

thanks for all the replies will do a spot test tomorrow and see if she's ok xx

EbonyJayne, its certainly looking that way :) guess you've read it right xx

Huh? I've not heard about this...this dry oil spray can be used as fly spray on horses? Have I read that right?

Yes. It's especially effective against midges so a real help with horses with sweet itch. I spry it on the bits of my boy which are sensitive to midge bites and it really helps.

I learn something new everyday on here! I do need to find a new Avon person though as the girl who comes at the minute is very unreliable, my order was due to be deliverered yesterday and I still have it here for her to collect! :-/

To get more value for your money buy the bath oil { same fragrance} when its on offer, its in a bigger bottle and you can water it down as its a thicker consistancey, it works the same.
Great on midges, not to good as a fly repellant.
