Awful awful awful *warning - disturbing footage*

This video made me feel physically sick!! How can someone do that to a horse! Those horses are doing what has been asked of them only to be lead to a tragic death! Makes me wanna push all of the riders and organisers of this 'suicide race' of a cliff!!
 
OMG,thats so sick!I only watched a bit.Makes me want to cry!:mad: All i hope is that those sick people die whilst doing it!!
 
I'm sorry, but I don't get America's relationship with the horse at all:confused:

On the one hand, they ban slaughter so they end with loads of welfare problems (abandonment, horses being exported).

They have sanctuaries that will 'save' horses that you can't help but feel might have been better off being humanely pts - the mare with horrendous burns all over springs to mind, she made it eventually but her wounds must have been agonising, and it was a long, long recovery - was it really fair to put her through that?

Then on the other hand, you have things like this going on, not to mention the 'speed breaking' contests (who can break a horse in in under 5 minutes), the BLM mustang round-ups and so on.

Is there a happy medium out there?? Is it just that the two extremes of the spectrum shout loudest?

It's just beyond me:confused:
 
just been reading this and the one on the Tennessee walking horses and find it horrifying how people can justify any of it or say that these horses are fine and wouldn't do it if they didn't want to or it won't harm them physically or mentally are severely deluded so many horses suffer pain and ignorance in silence beaten and terrified into submission!! they do what they are told BECAUSE they are being beaten into it
 
Yeah, from everyone's comments I don't think I shall be watching whatever this video is as these things tend to stick in my memory! However, what is it with youtube - why do people post horrific videos on it?? Sorry, i am not a youtube user really - I don't really get the point of the site at all. People seem to be able to post videos of horrendous abuse as if it's something to be proud of.
 
I'm sorry to ask but can someone please tell me what happens in the video, i'm on my phone and can't watch it even though the comments on here have put me off seeing it anyway. if you prefere to PM me to spare the people who dont want to read what happens that will be fine, thanks in advance :/
 
Another example of how man is both controlling and cruel, all for the chance to be named the fool that won the suicide race (whatever it is called)

I despair for the human race. :(
 
Load of cowboys racing flat out down a very, very, very steep hill, horses doing somersaults down said hill as a result. They all seemed to get up (how they didn't break their necks, I just don't know!) but once the adrenaline wore off some of them were really lame:(

Just seems like a pointless display, I mean at least with normal flat or jump racing you see which horse is the fastest and strongest - this seems just to show which horse is the luckiest not to get taken out by another horse crashing into it.
 
There is another video of this somewhere on YT prob from another year. It shows a bay horse being led along after and then standing there with blood pumping and I mean pumping out of it's leg. With the amount it was pumping out it was obvious it would die of blood loss. It was so sad. The stupid men holding it are not even acknowledging it.

I won't search for it as it just makes me feel sick :(
 
Hmm - tradition, rights - so that makes it all ok then? I don't think so. Even in the usa I thought animals have rights.
Rights stand together with responsibilities - no responsibility or compassion is shown here.
I suggest they purchase a few dirt bikes instead and throw themselves of the nearest cliff.
