My horse is a superstar!!

Went out for a hack this morning with my friend Hannah and her lovely mare Ebony. Bit bored with going to the same place all the time so decided to explore..... and thought we would ride to the Cuckoo Trail.
Fair enough except we had to cross the A22, which is a really busy duel carriageway. Ebony isn't very good in traffic but when we got there it seemed quite quiet so we decided to be brave (or stupid) and cross the first bit to the central reservation, big mistake as soon as we got onto the middle about a million cars and lorries came past us on both sides

we were both terrified the horses would freak out but they both stood stock still while we waited for the road to be clear enough for us to cross.
We then had to ride up the main road into Hailsham, over a mini roundabout and down another busy road to get onto the Bridleway. Neither horse looked at a thing!

On the way back however Ebony decided enough was enough and as soon as we got to the A22 she started spinning round and running backwards. Hannah jumped of her and lead her across but I stayed on Axel and he was again an absolute superstar and didn't move a muscle or spook at all

He has well and truely redeemed himself after the disaster that was the dressage on saturday!

Thanks for getting to the end

and....when we came back across the xcountry field, Hannah and Ebony cantered on ahead jumping the xc jumps and me and Axey had a very nice, slow controlled canter alongside her! He stopped and stood by the gate and we watched Hannah and Ebs jump the big bench and he didn't move a muscle. I was extra pleased with him then.

Lets hope he's as well behaved at our next dressage comp!
