My horse has azoturia :(. Vet says he should get better in the next day or so with gentle walks and rest. Is there anything else I can do? He's had electrolytes in his feed tonight because he's not drinking very much. He's picking at his net and passing stools and wee. Anything I can do to speed up recovery? :(

Do you know if it is definately azoturia or is it polysaccharide storage myopathy? Depends on the breed of horse, diet and exercise. I wrote a paper on this for my degree, I can send it to you if you would like to PM me your email address, it has references to research and a rehabilitation programme.

Ditto Fimbacob my old horse had PSSM amongst other things and was required to have a strict diet and exercise regime due to PSSM predisposing them to tie up
