B&W Report

Went to Bath and West today for PN. Had 4am start as 8.48 dressage and no time to walk xc - which I did think was a little unhelpful, anyway, nevermind - will sleep well tonight!

The dressage was a complete mud bath - sea of squelchy mud everywhere. Very unfortunate really - I looked like I'd been hunting! Did a lovely test, was thrilled with her, she really didn't make any mistakes, was nice and flowing and accurate, felt it deserved better than 34.3 and still think that having watched the video now I'm home!

She jumped very well, just rolled a pole behind on an upright down hill and was absolutely mega xc.

Was actually very strong which was unlike her, but she was great, didn't look at anything and flew round inside time. Finished just out of the placings - 12th I think! A great run in prep for Gatcombe

Sounds like you had a great day! Also sounds like we were lucky with the ground yesterday as the dressage arena's were near perfect

Its always great to get the first one under your belt finishing with a happy horse.

Well done, glad you had a good day. I have just seen a friend whose daughter competed and she said the dressage was appalling, they had to hose off afterwards (he is grey)

Well done, no doubt will fill you with confidence for the next comp, it's always good to start the season on a good note.
Shame about the dressage, I've puzzled a few times over odd results, you get to know what a test normally earns so it's infuriating to suddenly know it was a good one but with a worse mark!
My daughter was in an Intro today and rang to say the going was terrible, you would think with all that showground space they would be able to move the arenas overnight wouldn't you?

eek that IS early!!! Great first run, welldone - bet the tack was lovely to clean after galloping through the mud!!
hope gatcombe goes well
