Bodge job as I can't get him a harness till next year [unless anyone knows of any very cheap 2nd hand ones to get away just to pull a tyre with till Spring lol!], so roller and rope it was! Health and safety [and professionalism] look away!

Never pulled anything before, but has long reined.....didn't bat an eyelid bless him.

Looking at me putting tyre on.....

Off we go!

Went down the fence line, did some circles and figures of 8 round on the stubble, then back up to the gate. He was a bit looky behind him to start with when it was scraping on the concrete drive part, but didn't react hugely to it, just a bit head up and bendy body, trying to look at what was behind him. Then soon as we did one circle, he got into it, didn't care and really started pulling it, walk and trot, like an old pro!

Obviously...possibly not that comfy for him, though it's not pulling tight anywhere on him as rope attached to the roller, so only did it for 5-10 minutes maximum, but so so pleased with him! [Though, to be honest, I can't even get to his skin he's that much of a woolly bear cub now, so don't think he even realised he was wearing anything!]

At the end....he decided that was more than enough work, and sleepy time had to resume!

:D

Thanks! We always get boy racer yobbos that park up and generally dump various crap up an old car park on the top of that field....I saw on old tyre thrown away there and had a brainwave. :p

My problem is, I shall be doing that, a small handful of times at best, when I get bored on various sunday days off lol...So, am not really pushed to buy him one yet. Another problem...is, he's pony sized currently...but will be cob sized come Spring. So again.....just won't bring myself to buy him one yet as it won't fit him come next year. I'm sorted once he's older to get him his own one, as luckily, through work I can get him a brand new leather set made for him, for £80 trade price....so that is my plan come next year. But for now, unless I can find an old cheap tatty one to throw on him every now and then, I just can't really validate, buying him one right at the moment if that makes sense!

He's a duuuude. I thought he'd be more flinchy about it....but yet again, nope. No reaction.

I swear....come 4...I'll probably get on him,and promptly get spectacularly dumped on my head for all to see...on photo no doubt! :p

What would he be like if you attached a sled and you sat on it but on the grass not the tarmac for ease of pulling.

Hmmm no idea!!! Probably wouldn't care to be honest, but with rope, I wouldn't like him to pull anything heavier than a tyre at the moment as I think it would be too uncomfy for him....but we did joke about this idea at the time also as friend said she had a wooden sled she should have bought down lol!!!

Thankyou! :D I can't wait till he's old enough to be pulling a cart out :)

N'aaaaaw, bless him, I wonder if he's aware of his fan club :D

Not taken many of him, as he's currently decided rolling is in fact fun in the field! So, looks muddy and horse-like :p

Snapped one y/d at sunset grazing him on the headland.

This is how I taught mine to pull she still never pulled anything proper! Me on a sledge is nearest she got and I think she'd lose it now if I asked her to, good grounding before I backed her though
