A happy post, I took my young horse XC training for the first time yesterday, We had a public holiday so I bit the bullet and went to a local club that has a variety of baby jumps, 45-80cm. Husband and Coolie tagged along to baby sit. We warmed up in an arena, checked we had breaks, go, and steering and headed out to have a play.

I've been taking everything very slowly with this horse, he's been retired from racing for a year and taking to his new life very well. Yesterday was no different and he flew everything happily and confidently. He only had one little wobble into a white upright fence that he jumped first go anyway but the rest were easy peasy.

He jumped the biggest he ever has, about 70/75cm and it was all just great fun! I'm very proud of him. Hubs also jumped a little jump for the first time too!
