Please can you tell me if you can overdose a horse on Bach Flower remedies?
I started Squealie on Rock Rose and Apsen on Sunday to help with his spooking - he has 4 drops of each in his overnight water and 4 of each when i bring him in from the field on an apple - tonight he came in from the feild ok but after he had eaten his tea and began to groom him he was nearly asleep - stood with his head down. let me brush his forelock and rub his face - not normal! And when i went to give him his scratch he just stood still - totaly unheard of! he normally is in raptures and nearly sits down!
Can he be 'doped' by those remedies - I didnt think they would have that effect - just thought they would make him less jumpy. I have a lesson tomorrow morning and am wondering if i will have to carry him to the school.......
any advise welcome - thanks x

No. They are harmless and overdosing is simply wasteful. You should make up a treatment bottle with 2 drops to 30ml spring water for the apple. Your 4 neat drops each in overnight water is fine. Overdose has no known side effects. Sounds to me like they are doing the job. Their effect can be very dramatic. Many Horses fall asleep while being groomed.

try forest farmacy calmers - they are based on the same thing but specifically for horses to target different issues. I have used them and found them great for all sorts of situations.
