Wow, what a fun day!

9am, catch pony, groom, plait, tack up. He got a green ribbon, and I put a little one in my own hair too, since we're both so green at this.

10am, hack over to riding school and load onto lorry with horses that instructor is taking

11am, arrive, unload, wait for everyone to assemble, and get progressively more nervous. The poor spooky pony had diarrhoea.

...and then, charge madly about for a few hours! The spooky pony didn't spook at all, had something resembling brakes, and even jumped something! (I was trying to avoid a pile of brush, only to find a HUGE blob of water several metres wide, and he just stretched, and over we were! Smart spooky pony!)

I learned some things about him: his little legs can go bloody fast when he puts his mind to it, and he will eventually stop when I ask him to. I also galloped down a steepish hill for the first time ever.

Several of us left a bit early; me, because we have dressage tomorrow, and he's not very fit.

My instructor said I should be very pleased with how well he behaved, and I am!

There will be piccies; just have to get them.

5pm, return to the riding school, unload, and hack home. Many carrots.

...6:30pm, one hour lesson in sitting trot without stirrups...ouch.
