Currently have an old pair of Woof Wear boots for the back but velcro has now gone and now amount of tape will keep them on if the grass is wet or there's a water jump!

So, any recommendations for back boots for XC? Have lots planned this season so it's definitely time to invest in some nice new ones!

He has Thorowgood Cob ones for the front - can I use these back and front? I do like them because they stay in place forever. Shall I jsut go for a second set of these for the back (I'm sure I remember seeing somewhere you can use them back and front?)?

We have the premier equine air cooled competition boots, they are £25.99 but are really good quality and have stayed in place so far

I use the Premier Equine ones too, love them, never slip etc. I think the 'old style' ones (which is what I have) are on sale - or at least they were a couple of weeks ago. I love the look of the new ones, but can't justify them as the ones I have have only done two half seasons!

Not bothered what they look like as long as they do the job!!

Would you hunt in them as well?

Premier equine ones are very good for the money. Personally dont like the NEW aircooled ones, the yard I worked at brought a set and sent them back because they were so flimsy! I like nice sturdt tendon guards though, so like the new Prem equine ones but love my Prolites, though they are expensive. I have hunted with my Prolite ones successfully though!

Ok just had a look as someone posted a link to a website selling them in another post. I like the look of their brusing boots, the air cooled boots, and also the Pro-Tector boots.

Anyone used any of the above? My horse has a tendency to brush XC so presumably they'll be fine for brushing protection too won't they (they need to stand up to a day's hunting too as he'll brush mostly then)?

I have some of the "old style" competition boots, have used them for out hacking, but legs felt a little warm after it, so i would suggest they are better used for fast work, so the air cooliong bit actually works
