Back boots

I use tri-zone tendon boots on my horse and last week bought matching back boots. As soon as I put them on he was fine, then when I walked him forward my horse he lifted his legs and shook them to try and get the boots off, so I assume he isn't used to them! He does the same with travel boots and has recently shredded a very expensive pair! That problem has been sorted now as I just load him first and then put boots on in the trailer.
So I used the back boots today whilst jumping and when I put them on at first and walked him forward he lifted his legs and shook them, but then he settled well so I got on him. After jumping, I took the boots off and he had cut both his back heels. This never happens usually, without the boots.
What is your advice?

Is there anything in the boots that could have caused it? Is it cuts or have the boots just rubbed him? Does he need boots behind?

I hope he heal quickly!

Thanks!

No don't think it's the boots. Maybe just because he's not used to having them on, I'm not sure! They're not big cuts or deep, but I want to know how they happened so that I know whether or not to have them on him.
