As per title really, I had Hannah Haskew out today to Hector and he has an old injury to his pelvis and also had some soreness along his back

He loved his treatment and was a good boy, can already see him moving and standing much better

As to the sarcoids well you never guess what is working, after trying a few things and the vey suggesting we give it a rest because they looked sore and angry, I just put on some naffoff fly cream to keep the flys away from them.

it contains garlic and tea tree, I have used nothing else for 3 weeks, and the verrucous one has almost disappeared and hair is coming through, and the tiny ones nearly gone, plus the big one has 1/2d in size, now I could be wrong but seems a bit of a coincidence to me

Anyway happy owner

and one much more comfortable horse.

My friends horse had terrible sarcoids all over his face and had suffered with them for a few years. She tried all the fancy treatments there are and it really lowered his spirits. I then suggested she tried garlic and 6 months later they were all gone. That was over 5 years ago now and they have never returned.

Wow, good old garlic! Just goes to show that there is sometimes a reasonable alternative to these expensive 'remedies' (which of course the vets would never tell you!) Just a case of trial and error mixed in with some common sense. Glad you are both feeling better, can be so disheartening when you can't see an end to these problems but such a good feeling when you manage to cure them

Not trying to be negative guys but sarcoids can be so difficult to definitively diagnose. Often the ones that appear to resolve either spontaneously or with the application of simple treatments were never sarcoids in the first place but odd skin conditions that just look like sarcoids. Either way, great news that Hector is a happy boy again x

well 2 vets dianosed as sarcoids but will see , hoping they stay away lol

Re his back today I ran my hand along and there was no flinching! wow hes a lot happier in himself

The only way to be absolutely sure they are sarcoids is a biopsy. As doing a biopsy can make them worse & future treatment less likely to be successful the usual approach is "if it looks like a sarcoid, assume it's a sarcoid". I was lucky, one of Pickles lumps had a biopsy because the vet thought it was something else, it turned out to be a sarcoid but the skin split & it came out of it's own accord with no treatment at all. Same I can't say the same for the other 30.
