Back in action - dressage today

Well after 3 months out of action after smashing my leg up - I have been dying to write a report on something

Went off to do dressage today and my only goals were a) to enjoy it and b) not to come last

and I am pleased to say I achieved both coming 6th in Prelim 17 and 7th in Novice 21. Jemima was very pleased to be out again and was very strong in places

Here are a couple of photos..... really pleased with her and thanks to KatB for supporting.
P.S - we lost marks in both tests for jogging in the walk

This horse has a great walk - when hacking - how do I lose the jogging and get some of that walk in the arena

Lovely pics. Glad you had a good first day back out again!
My mare has a lovely walk at home, but doesn't show it at all in a test. Far too interested in looking round her rather than stretching down, so I sympathise. Hopefully improves the next time you are out, as she was prob just a bit "new" to the competition environment again, and will settle more the next time.

Thanks guys for all your lovely comments and messages of support - I really wasn't expecting that and really do appreciate it. It is hard to describe how frustrating it is when you are stuck at home for weeks on end and struggle to even get to see your horse let alone take part in anything. There are lots of you on here that know exactly what that is like and how grateful it makes you for the small things.... thanks once again for your kind words.

I laughed at the comment about Carl Hester Pootler - in actual fact the winner was Becky Moody with 79% - WAY out of my league - but lovely to watch. She had several stunning horses there yesterday and rode beautifully.

Christmas Derby - Jemima is by Manhattan (Burgraff/Ladykiller) and her grandsire on her Dams side is Narcos II - not really bred for dressage hey?
