Well, I finally got back in the saddle. It's been 5 months since I rode due to prostate problems including 10 weeks since my operation.
This weekend I finally got on Shiney. I have done 6 weeks in the gym working on my strength and fitness to get ready for this weekend.
I got to the yard and Shiney was waiting for me.. He looked fantastic and a credit for all the work Mickeymoo, my better half has done with him over the summer months.
I would have been proud just to sit on him. I got onboard and we made our way to the manage. I was a bit apprehensive but after 10 minutes of warmup in walk I did another 10 minutes of walk, trot and canter transitions. This went better than I could ever have wished for.
I thought I would really ache on sunday morning but I think due to my gym preparation work, I felt fine and rode in the afternoon, repeating saturdays work. Shiney felt even better and lighter to the aids.
I still feel there is no need to rush, and I am hoping to be back in competition by the end of January.
thanks for reading if you got this far. wine and chocs..xx
