I'm in the market for a new helmet and really prefer safety over style (I'm wierd)

I've read that the Back on Track EQ3 helmets are meant to be good.
Has anyone got one and what did they think?

Any other options out there that I should look into? I've not got a massive budget and had been put off by the italian type helmets through posts on here in the past.

I looked into these, but was put off as they have not been certified for competition yet (or at least not when I was looking). They had a European certification that was correct, but not the additional mark for use in comp in this country.

I was personally convinced that they were safer, but did not want to get one that I could only use at home. I was also put off that at that time I could only find a supplier that would import one to me, as if it were not a good fit I would have to post abroad to return.

I have just had a quick browse, and they seem to be certified to CEVG1, but not kitemarked. For competition (other than BE???) they need the additional kitemark.

I am not an expert on hat standards though, and may have got it wrong!

as far as i know Back on Track helmets are not kite marked nor comp legal here in the UK despite rating so well for safety so you can be safe but not competition legal in them :-( I think they were hoping to get the correct certification for the UK soon though.

I'm not in the UK but Ireland, and they do meet the standard, just lacking the kitemark too.

This is more for my everyday hat though as I have a competition legal (and clean) Champion helmet which I keep for shows.

Quick update, I bought one and love it. The mips thing is like an inner skin and took a little getting used to but overall I find it fine and comfortable.

Charles Owen are launching a new range of MIPS hats that I’m keeping an eye having fallen off at the weekend and needing to replace mine! Apparently they will be at Badminton

oh interesting - I'll keep an eye on those too, I like the Charles Owen range.
