I have just discovered this product because of my agility dog and wondered if anyone had tried this for a horse who is cold backed? This could be purely academic as he may never be able to be ridden but I wondered if he can be weather this product does make a difference to cold backed horses? He doesn't buck but he is like a crab and jogs, he has physio every 3 months which really helps and has a sheepskin saddlecloth at the min but wondered if this would be better for him.

Harry Potter chocolate frog on offer :)

I really like the BOT rugs. Sadly I don't have any experience of the saddle pads but I have had a very positive experience with the rugs

Scarlett on here uses the BOT pad; might be worth pm'ing her if she doesn't see this thread (she'll definitely reply if she notices it ;) )

I only recently realised BOT products don't have much of a profile here yet, but they have been very popular for years in North America - if you do a search on COTH there are quite a few threads with reviews.

Brilliant bits of kit. Been using them for 2 years.

I have a spare pad if you interested I would sell. PM me if Interested

Used to use it on my old lad ludo , defo made a difference.

Use the rug still on new horse but don't need the pad

I wear the shorts to bed as wake up stiff in mornings in my lower back, if I wear the shorts I wake up and back feels fine. So this is how I know for sure it works as use it on myself

I can heartily recommend BOT products. I use them rugs/saddlepad and boots on my older horse and I really notice a difference in hos comfort, willingness to work and far less stiffness. I also use the clothing and love it, especially the socks and insoles I always feel toasty however the temperature. The stuff is expensive but well worth it.

Thank you, Daytona I will wait and see if he comes sound first, but thank you. If he does then I will invest in one £60 is the same price as a new sheepskin saddlecloth

Haven't seen the saddle cloths but the Equilibrium massage pad was great for my cold-backed horse and he loved it - plus, I used it on myself when I had a bad back!

Thank you Eleanor I do have one and haven't found it makes much a difference to his cold backness before riding. It helps long term between physio sessions though

I was totally sceptical but after buying one of the rugs I'm convinced. The difference in temperature whilst wearing the rug is really noticeable so it must be doing something right!
