Back Problems!

Hiya,

Ive had my mare for over a year now and have been doing really well with her we have competed in local shows, hunter trials and ODEs, and have been placed alot!

She has been playing up in the show jumping (stopping,running out etc) and the last ODE I did she was an angel in the dressage but in the show jumping I had a nasty fall and managed to take the entire jump out with my ear! ouch!

Anyway a friend sugested I take her to have her back looked at which I have done and the bloke has said to start from scratch with schooling and build her up slowly, so she uses the right mussels and builds her confidence up again. Being a hunt lover I dnt no much about schooling etc, any help or hint would be much appriciated! Im kind of stuck as to wat to do first!

Prob best start then is to get an instructor on board and get help from the ground!

Agree with Dianchi - get some lessons! It's much easier with someone on the ground who can see what you are doing.

Where abouts are you? I would have thought a good instructor would help and is probably the best way forward.

I keep her in Mount Hawke nr Truro, I have a friend who can help somtimes but I think I need to get a proper plan going, thanks for all the advice guys x

I don't know who teaches at Chiverton now but you could hack there. If you have transport what about someone like Fiona Jones just to have a look and give a bit of advice.
