Just wondering, in these days of h&e, if it is the norm for an instructor to insist younger kids where a bp when having a jumping lesson?
Obviously us adults are dumb enough to make our own mind up.
Comments( OH was curious)

Yes, I think it is normal. I don't normally wear one myself but I ended up buying one because when I went on a riding club summer camp a few years ago the instructors insisted you had to wear a bp for jumping lessons, and we were adults!

My YO/RI friend insisted the kids wore BPs all the time. I had one when I began jumping again but I find it so restrictive. I'm old enough to make my own choices though.

It was always an option, but we wern't really advised to as they're restrictive and so make it much harder to learn correct positioning. We were only ever made to wear one for XC.
