Does anyone use a back protector? Like the Charles Owen Shadow? If so what do you think of them? I've noticed quite a few forsale on FB marketplace & Vinted so wondering if people are finding them too restrictive or not feeling like they offer enough protection?

I have a body protector but find it quite restrictive and hot (not a problem at the moment!) so am considering a back protector to wear with my youngster. She has a rather large leap on her when spooked or nervous and she keeps growing so the ground is getting further away!

I wear a bp. In almost all my falls over the years, I have rolled onto my side, so I like it that the sides of my ribs are protected. And the padding there helps to protect ones elbow too, if one falls sideways onto ones arm.
A back only protector would not make me feel safe.

I am wondering if a newer body protector like a Champion Titanium would be an idea, mine is an older airowear one.

My big chunky airowear body protector has saved me many times. I had two almost identical falls last year, one with and one without and the latter was much more unpleasant.

I am looking to upgrade and would only go as minimal as a racesafe I think. A friend had the champion slimline back protector and it was like cardboard.

Worth trying out the newer style body protectors. They have gotten a lot better recently and are far more comfortable than they used to be!
I’m a big fan of RaceSafe but I think the champion titanium ones look good too.
