just bought a new horse. tb x Id 12 yrs.back shoes on front feet ,owner says its because he pushes out of his front shoes . dont quite understand it , any ideas , suggestions.

Quarter clips not toe clips? Mine are all shod like that nowadays, all those that are shod that is.

Dont worry about it
Horse has probably twisted out of a shoe at some point and damaged the wall
Putting back shoes on front feet puts nail holes in a different place to allow wall to recover

Mine has quarter clips on the front instead of toe clips. Farrier uses natural balance shoes so fronts are kept upright, but he puts clips on mine at my request as he is good at pulling them off!

I highly doubt that they are hind shoes. Hinds are a different shape and it's a lot of work to create a front shoe out of a hind. I suspect that they are double clipped (also know as quarter clips) FRONTshoes!

This is absolutely nothing to be concerned about
I am not sure what you mean by pushes out of front shoes! That doesn't make any sense. Do you mean he grows a lot of toe? This is one of the reasons there shoes are used. Or he pulls shoes? Again they are used for this reason too. Two clips are better than one for helping to keep shoes on.

Kal has quarter clips on his front feet (yes, feet, not hooves, LOL) . . . he went shoeless for a while and has rather thin walls so farrier felt he would hold onto his shoes better if he shod him this way . . . and it's worked!
