As title really, diagnosed arthritis in right hock 4 weeks ago. Given cortisone injections, then 5 days off followed by 10 days of walk followed by 10 days building up the trot.
The farrier came a week after the injections and said she's bringing it through more (he always walks and trots them up before and after shoeing). Within 4 days of walk I could feel her hind leg coming through under my right bum cheek - best way to describe it ! And my right stirrup feels like it's 2 holes longer, not sure why ? Maybe someone can explain ?
The trot work has progressed from Post on here10 strides to about a minute at a time including hills and although a few blips, day 3,4 & 7 when she had like a Stringhalt episode which went after 8 - 10 strides of walk (vet said possible) she's felt fantastic.
We bumped into Copperpot today *waves hello* so that was nice to meet a fellow HHO on her lovely ginge :) (with matching bridle and
breastplate ;))

Fingers, toes, arms and legs crossed please that the vet is a happy bunny
tomorrow :)

Will keep my fingers crossed, hope it all goes well.

My ginger boy went on for years (eventing, hunter trialling, team chasing) with hock arthritis!

Are you level? I have a similar problem and its coz my pelvis it unlevel. If your certain it isn't you then gack get horsey's back checked.

It was lovely to meet you on your gorgeous mare :) she's a beauty and I think ginge was quite taken with her!

I am the queen of matchy matchy lol. All the gear and absolutely no idea :)

Good luck for tomorrow. We will have all fingers and hooves crossed for you!! X

Vodkagirly - it was having the chiropractor out twice in 3 weeks that helped suss out something more was going on. She is bit of an idiot in the field so assumed she'd gone over hooning about. The vet was totally happy with her pelvis - at least one part of her is ok ! But def thanks for the advice :)

Sorry Vodkagirly - just reread your post ! I read it first as is my horse level Doh !
I think I was curling my leg up before as my right heel always felt higher than the toes, now it feels level. I do need to see a chiropractor but mine moved away and not found another decent one yet.

Copperpot - I think I'm the queen of all the gear no idea - I even brought some expensive ergonomic socks for competitions with L & R on them so you put them on the right feet :D they saw
me coming !!!!!
We went up the bypass sideways after leaving you as all the flappy newt fence was extra flappy today.

Ah yes the flappy fence and the fallen down part too now! Double trouble :)

2 weeks ago I decided I may start schooling so an proud owner of a dressage saddle :) have since decided I don't like it! Not as fun as hooning
