What did the mctimoney woman say, they are more muscalar skeletal based.

My mctimoney woman is great though, she quikly established that there was more muscle buildup on one side etc.

What did she put on your form , you know where the write all the adjustments they have done, they then generally tell you how to follow up, for example with beau she said lunge in sidereins or pessoa to get even build up on both sides.

I wouldnt go out and get a physio aswell if the mctimoney woman has given you stuff to work with, unless of cours the horse is no better. what is the problem?

when Lance was lame we first got the physio 3 times, but all she could find was general stiffness, it was the mctimoney woman wh diagnosed the problems and sorted them. again muscalar skeletal, ie pelvis /atlas mainly.

nothing wrong in paticular, but hasnt been quite right recently, and doesnt like having his girth done up, so was wondering if it was muscular.

Just contemplating at this stage about what else there is out there

so what adjustments did she make, ie what were the problems, and did she give you a follow up exercise plan?

she should have, I would give these ago first and see if it helps, espec if the problem isnt bad.

if its a girthing issue has it been done up too tightly etc, does his saddle fit, coud be causing a sore back, ie the basics.

saddle all fits etc. she did put some bits back into place, got some bits to do with him.

I was going to see how he goes after it, like i say just wondering what else there is out there

I moved away from physios after a few bad experiences with them. I know you shouldn't tar all with the same brush but still.

Osteos ive used quite a lot. I used Gavin Schofield for years and years and he's amazingly good although difficult to get hold of these days.

In more recent years ive used chiropractors and have always been pleased with them. Their methods tend to be rather quiet which suits my horse (i always found physios a bit brutal and my poor mare detested the slapping action they used round her poll area

which was my main reason for stopping using them).

Where abouts are you? Claire Andrews is a brilliant Equine Massage Therapist - she works wonders on my TB mare, who is stiffer than a plank of wood! She's in Leicester - let me know if you want her details

Equine Bowen Therapy is very good. It works on the basis that bones are held in place by muscles and if the muscles aren't right they will pull the bones out of alingment. Worked well on my horse and on my pelvis. I've had a lot of McTimoney over the years due to a road accident and find that Bowen works for me where McTimony doesn't because I anticapte when things are going to hurt and block the manipulation through tensing my muscles - horses can also do the same. May be worth doing a web search to see who is local to you, generally Bowen therapy isn't too expensive either which helps!
