Our connemara field ornament, retired about 10 yrs ago due to ringbone - today untied the gate of the paddock where he was with his two big mates, let himself out leaving them closed in, opened the feed store, took the lid off a bin of feed, ate as much as he could get stuffed into himself and then put himself back into the paddock! It was only by following the trail of evidence that I worked out why he looked so guilty and the others looked so p'd off when I went to bring them in.

What a clever pony. Lucy once let her self out of her stable, Let all the other horses out then opened the feed room door and had a midnight snack. We found all the other horses loose but Lucy stood in her stable (door still open though) looking as sweet and inesent as only she can. It had to have been her though as none of the other horses ever got out again but she is well known for being an escape artest. We have trouble finding ways to keep her in. We tried horse proof bolts but she can undo those to.

Yup - he's a real escape artist, and so aweet with it you can't really get mad with him - though he knows very well when he's done something naughty. The other two - big not so clever horses - really looked as if they wanted to tell on him!
