Hey

so today for my first ever time i went to spectate at a team chase :D
it started off with the pairs going and my friend and yard manager went round clear :)

then on to the groups so our first team one of them pulled up as horse refused i think to go any further  But as three had to get round they continued on.
then they had refusals and by that time the ground was very soft the weather was terrible :(
then one went lame had a cut on its leg and mouth

then the 3rd team went. by which point just after the 4 of them set off the rain came in.

5 fences to go and one of the girls took a fall at the fence but got up and got her horse, she was ok sadly her horse was not :( he broke his leg and sadly got put down at the fence :(:(

So this is for Jay RIP.................. My thought go to you and your owner :(

Was this at Worcester?

We were there, the ground was horrid. I was so sick with fear I almost threw up in the starting pen. Our team took it slowly and got round saftley thankfully.

So sorry to hear about your friends horse

yep it was in worcester :)
did you go around with a team or in pairs??
the weather was soooo bad. i heard today that afterwards lots of people pulled out

I was at the yard today and it was horrible everyone was really down  the girl who was riding and who lost the horse came up and she looked like she was still in shock.
did you see the group who went round with lead ropes and head collers  totallly mad

I bet she is still in shock, poor, poor thing. I can't imagine how it must feel to loose a horse in such circumstances.

We were in a team of three in the novice class. We were the ones the commentator was saying were going at "a good steady pace!" AKA slow! We just wanted a clear round and safe ponies.

We were very close to pulling out. We nearly didn't even go to the "parking" when we found out a tractor would have to pull us in and out.

We are doing the VWH this sunday, I hope the ground is better.

Big hugs to your friend
