Please say that you had a contract with them?
If so, if the amount you have received doesnt match the sale price less commission as previously put in contract, then this is breach of contract.

If you are a member of BHS then call their legal line.

If no contract, then you need to find written/email evidence of how financial settlement was to be made.

While legal advice wouldn't go amiss, it's very easy to raise a claim in the small claims court for the amount you think you are due. It's done online and if the sum is low enough it costs very little. Receiving notice of a claim can often prompt the debtor into paying up. Many of the rest are paid at the door of the court when they realise you're determined to go ahead with the claim in court.

Obviously if you're missing tens of thousands you can't take this approach, but the small claims court was set up precisely so that people who can't afford lawyers still have access to a court to recover smaller debts.
