Well I've had a terrible weekend

Was walking Ellis around the field Sat evening, everything nice and quiet. When he suddenly threw in a huge buck and basically i went flying

Landed very hard, was in excrutiating pain, and couldn't move at all. My legs were fine, it was my shoulder and back that weren't feeling good.
Luckily, friend was there, and called 999 straightaway. I was screaming so much the whole village must've heard me. The ambulance took half an hr, by which time OH was with me too. I was still in the same position, and my hat was digging into my forehead so badly it was bruised!
Got gas and air straight away and lots of morphine, whilst they cut off my top

and got me on a board and braced. The poor buggers had to carry my screaming body across 2 fields to the ambulance. Despite being pumped full of morphine, I was still sreaming by the time we got to hospital, and screamed all the way through A&E, then seriously screamed when they moved me onto a bed. (so loudly the nurse told me to shhhh!) It was then decided I was immune to morphine

So IV parcetamol and gas and air constantly, and I was comfortable-ish. Had shed loads of x rays done of back, neck and shoulder. Doctor comes in and says nothings broken, takes neck brace off......and gets more screaming from me

So he decides to get someone out especially to give a second opinion. Again, says no broken bones - yippee. Lots more painkillers and the ok to go home, I manage to get up, throw up and leave about 3am.
2 days later, and still in agony. Done something horrible to my shoulder and back, all swollen and still unable to move. Everything very painful, despite all the drugs they sent me home with! Think I'll have to get to GP tomorrow, and find out exactly what I've done.
Oh, and I'm still making little screaming noises on occasion

Sympathies, I've been there and done that................. but in the nicest possible way, you sound like a right wimp or a screaming banshee!

Glad I wasn't there to hear you; I bet they were all dying to tell you to belt up, I know I would have done, I'm very hot on sympathy!!

Hope you feel better soon, you'll be alright once the bruising's come out.

LOL, thanks for the sympathy, you remind me of that nurse

Well I'm not normally a screamer, and wouldn't class myself as a wimp

See, it's made you feel better having a laugh about it!

You've gotta keep laughing, it'd hurt too much else!

Ouch! - my daughter screamed and screamed when her pony got bogged out hunting, she fell off in front of it and pony kicked her in the face as she got back up. Daughter lost a tooth and split her lip - but besides all the blood and gore, the screaming was intolerable!

That sounds so painful! I fell off my horse the other in a school and smacked into a wall before landing heavily on my bottom! Thankfully the bruising is going from my back and I was complaining about the pain for ages but after hearing about your accident my fall seems like nothing! You completely have my sympathy and I hope you feel better soon!

Sounds v painful. Hope you feel better soon.

A+E seem to be geared up to treating broken bones and not much else! Soft tissue injuries can hurt as much, if not more, and often require treatment.

I would definately get it checked out and insist on a referral. A&E miss loads of stuff and the GP may try to fob you off. Does it hurt very low down on your back? If yes, it could be a broken coccyx. This is often missed but extremely painful.

LOL this is why i'd never make a nurse... i would have gagged you! defo go for more xrays once the swellings gone down, sounds like something must be broken
