My poor lil lady.............. Yestaday morning i went up to the yard as usuall around 6.30 as i arrived i had a phone call saying equita had badley injured her leg, i then went on to yard to see 2 of the girls holding her with a big bandaged leg vet was on her way, wen vet arrived she took off bandaged to reveal the whole front of my girls leg missing looked horrific blood was sperting out apparently only 10% of the flexor tendon was missin but she will make a full recovery she dressed it and will need to come check it every 48hrs.
The cause of this was wire bloody fencing which is what all the paddocks are fenced with at our livery yard it is a new paddock that i have been given and had said i wasnt happy about turning out as the horses cant see it, i have learnt a valuble lesson has any 1 had similar experiances and did your horses make a full recovery???

I had a mare that did something similar but to a hind leg, she made about a 90% recovery, we put her in foal and sold her as she was still short on the leg. It will take a long time for her to get better - best advice I can give is to keep her in for as long as takes for the wound to completely close - you don't want an infection in there.
