I have been given various horse magazines over the years. My favourite is an old copy of 'The arabian horse times'.

Now many of the stallion ads are normal, just what you want ads, with good conformation photos, pedigree, achievements of the stallion and his offspring listed, stud contact details, stud fee etc... but then there are a few 'special ones. ;)

For example some have taglines.

The stallion Dark Victory has the line 'success can be a demanding, complicated and elusive quest, it helps to note that the light at the end of the tunnel is dark' across his photo.

Wolf's ad states that he is 'returning to prey on the desert'. Now that's exactly what i want in a stallion! ;)

Rohara Moon Storm has a speech bubble in which he says 'national trophies, a barn full of pretty mares, a little time for golf, what more could one wish for!' It should also be noted that he is pictured, fully tacked up, standing next to someone taking a swing with a golf club... but... there is no ball! Crazy! :D

Then some of the ads just make you groan.

Kouvay Bay's ad gives you a lot of information about him and his foals, but then it asks if you are 'kounvinced yet?' Agggghhhhhhh! :(

GA Nkhredible apparently takes you from 'fascination to nspiration' but they don't stop there, the ad continues to spell things badly (nspired, npressive and nspiration again).

Then there is the lovely ad where the stallion has had his tail badly photoshopped on. Another stallion is photographed trotting in his paddock, but he must have had muddy legs as his socks are photoshopped white, but it looks like someone has gone a bit mad with the tipex! :D

My favourite though is the ad for Fire An Ice, he has a great tagline (you have seen the ice, now here's the fire) but even better, you don't get a badly photoshopped picture of him, oh no, you get a really, really, really bad painting. Amazing, just what you need to choose a stallion. :) :p

Has anyone else seen any awful ads?

Oh, and a certain Irish horse dealer who regularly advertises with photos of him jumping horses over propped-up five bar gates while wearing trackie bottoms tucked into trainers and no hat...

Unless I am being thick and you already know.. the typos were done on purpose.. supposed to be a bit funny I guess.. :D

Haven't come across any silly ads though.

Not horse related but a company I used to work for had their website "professionally transformed" to appeal to a "modern upper-class market". On the first page alone there were so many spelling mistakes, simple grammatical errors and some rather cringe-worthy statementy bits. All this done by a "professional" web design company :/ Maybe their high-speck computers didn't have spell check.

Ummmmm...... It's high spec. As in specification. :D:D

Oh yes, definitely done on purpose. :)

I haven't looked at the stallion ads on dragon driving before - it sounds like I'm in for a real treat! ;)

On my website, the guy didn't know what my ceramic shire horses were, he decided to call them flower Shetlands. I found it so funny I still call my shire horses in show regalia, flower Shetlands!!!
Off to look at ads now.

Have to say I also ride in trackies, unless competing or doing a serious piece of work when I wear riding tights. Trackies are cheaper than jods and way more comfy, no nasty seam over the knees. I'm neither chav, irish nor traveller btw!

There seems to be a bit of a thing about 'fat' on Dragon Driving:

"This mare is fat, as fat as could be, you will not be disappointed, first to see will buy, she is so fat".
