Does you horse play up if they haven't been ridden for a while or can you pick them up and put them down? Haven't been able to ride mine for a week due to kids off school/work etc and she was an arse! Every time we trotted she threw her head up like she was going to bolt off/spooking at everything! I was glad to get off!

taz gets very fizzy and spooky, marches everywhere, argues in the school and is on his toes all the time, he thinks that when i ask him for trot it is trot as fast as he can, and generally just being a complete nob :o

My old lad I could leave for a month and jump on and he'd be exactly the same as before :) My 5 year old turns into a fire breathing dragon with leaf and pheasant phobias. You can't get your leg on him of he just runs away from you and he has a nasty stop-drop-spin-and-tank manoevre which can be a little unsettling if you're not expecting it. Point him at a jump when he's fresh though and you feel the most amazing rush of speed imaginable :D

My arab x warmblood was a bugger for that. If he wasnt ridden for a couple of days he would be scared of everything, buck, try to tank off and prance about. I used to get my friend to ride him first then i would get on because im nice like that :) but my welsh is total opposite i could leave him for years and still be able to get on him and he would be exactly the same- quiet and safe

I don't know I'll tell you in about an hour hopefully after successfully riding the new one that hasn't been sat on since Monday!

unfortunately I have no excuse :(

Both of mine can be left for ages and be fine, they have just had a 3 month holiday and were very well behaved when I finally got back in the saddle :D

Hey, I couldn't reply to your pm as it doesn't let me from my phone! It turned out that his saddle was ever so slightly pinching him and he had a sore back! Ever since he has been a changed horse in that department! Definitely worth getting them checked.
