Put my small horse up for share a few weeks ago and not had one reply yet! I've put I want a contribution in the add but I've not put how much so it can't be that putting people off.
There seems to be few horses for full loan but loads for share at the moment. I'm hoping it will pick up after Christmas. Is anyone else struggling to get a sharer?

I'm trying to find a sharer for my mare and its proving impossible!!! I think its a bad time of year for people to commit time/money etc

It can be a bit more work for a sharer if, for example, horse is in over winter and out in the summer. Also for people that work 'office' type hours riding indoors/in the dark can be less fun.

Having said that crisp autmn days are lovely when you do get out - in summer it can be too hot and sticky to do anything!

To the OP: if contribution is small (<35/week?) and you don't want to specify you could just say 'small contribution required' as lots of people use that phrase. But if you know exactly how much you want it is probably good to put it so everyone knows if they'd be able to afford it.

Based in Lancs, people looking for a share are spoilt for choice around here at the moment!
Have an indoor school so I've put that in the add, which I would of thought would attract people? She's only 14.2/3hh though so I suppose that limits the amount of people for a start

My sharer of nearly two yrs is giving up. Could put small contribution required I suppose, may help. I didn't want to put the exact amount as I may lower it (was thinking of under £30).

I've started looking for another horse to either share or loan, and browsing some sites there was one that caught my eye, no piccie on advert but it was the kind of horse that was being offered and am quite excited about it, it would be a full loan she sounds great, and she was advertised sometime ago, but I thought ahhh sod it I'll reply anyway....and low and behold she is avail still....woop woop for me I guess...yet to go and see her...

Yeah she would be good for PC activities, but I'm only offering a share of a few days per week, with possible option of doing smaller SJ classes/ clear rounds but wouldn't really want someone taking her to PC as I compete her. She's not suitable for a kid- strong and likes bucking whilst jumping (she gets excited!, bless her)

I only got a few replies when i put my pony up for share, yet when i put him up for full loan last year i was literally inundated with replies!! So yeah maybe it is harder to find sharers

I think mine was due to the fact that I was asking quite a hefty financial contribution (£200pm) although now they are only paying £150 as Im taking on another horse soon hence asking so much from the sharer!! Found a lovely sharer in the end though so keep trying!! I used equineadverts website as its free and loads to loan, plus theres horse to loan.com i think too. If you want to pay horsequest is best IMO, and try advertising at pc rallies/tack shops etc (if you havent already of course!!) good luck!!

Hi there are 2 of us at the yard seeking sharers and alas nothing even though we have the best behaved horses in the yard (when being ridden alas not when bringing in from the field at present!). Wrong time of year and as others said, less availability with light to ride.
