Just heard from Hannah's loaner that she need to give me the months notice. Luckily she is well aware of my circumstances and has no problems keeping her for the month as per our agreement, but obviously I now need to sort out alternatives. I do have somewhere I can put her if desperate but obviously won't be riding her for a few months. Also long term she does need to be out on loan so if anyone wants a fun experienced showjumper I'm definately open to ideas!
 
To be honest I really don't know. She has not done x-country for years, although I took her around Rockbourne a few times as a youngster and she was good, but she is such a careful jumper I really couldn't say how brave she would be x-country. She is also not great at Dressage as she only wears a hackamore or a vulcanite bit, this means she has to dressage in a mullen mouth vulcanite, I have done and been placed but it is not ideal, she also finds dressage dull but that probably would only be a problem if all you did was Dressage!
 
She is 16hh, here is a photo of her jumping at Hickstead a few years ago now!

She is (or was) a serious amatuer showjumper, for various reasons including breeding a foal she has not done much for a few years. She needs to go to someone whoo wants to and is capable of competing her seriously again. She would be perfect for the new amatuer classes they do.
 
would you not consider an equestrian college to loan her out to ? My horse is away at "uni" as i call it..and i can go and see him whenever i want and ride whenever i want..and he is kept in 5 * luxury only stage 2 riders and above ride him, so its along the lines of schooling livery but its free
 
That is bad timing, had I not just filled up my last stable with a new 4yr old I would have bitten your hand off as I've always loved the sound of her.

After April I can take one more but thats no good to you.

Why didn't it work out?
 
Thanks perenzo, a friend has also mentioned this so I have spoken to the local college and the yard manager is phoning me about her. It wouldn't suit all horses but Hannah loves to work and does not mind being in a lot so I think it would suit her.

She has been finding she bucks when cantering out in company(although says she is perfect out on own), this is something she has never done before but I suspect with the weather we've had and I know she has no school to use it's just over excitement from limited work. Problem is she now feels it's affecting her confidence so I fully understand why she does not want to continue with her.
 
She looks lovely in the photo - who's jumping her for you? What sort of classes did she use to jump?

You shouldn't have much of a problem finding someone for her.
 
Thanks, she has jumped up to Foxhunter, it's Ben Dunning in the photo. I decided my happy limit was discovery level, at which I even managed to win a couple of classes myself on her!

She is a real winner as she is careful and quick, but to be truthful would probably run out of scope much over 1.25m, but to be fair I've never pushed the height with her so can't be sure.
 
Hannah is a lovely horse if anyone is thinking of taking her on. I rode her on the New Forest with Burtie and she was an angel - good fun but very sensible. If only I had the time, money......etc!

Thr college is a good idea - I had my horse at one for a couple of terms and he was very well looked after and ridden very well.
