My hubby said a few weeks ago that I can start looking for a horse again

Then he applies for a job in another country, to which it will mean that we all go! So do I or do I not carrying on looking???

Then just browsing and found this ad.......

http://www.horsedeals.co.uk/horses/horses_for_sale/Traditional_Piebald_Gypsy_Cob__03-08-09-55353

can't waste the peoples time as that is not fair.......but why oh why cant things ever be straight forward just for once!!

I think, and shoot me down if you wish, that you need a conversation with hubby. If having a horse is your dream, to have it offered then changed

. What country are you looking to move to? Can you have a horse there? Hugs hun.

Well the job he has applied for is in Norway and is a fantastic opportunity if it comes off.
I could get a horse there but then if hubby looses the contract we would have to come back and then the problem would be transporting the horse back to the UK.

Its just very annoying that I think "yay, I can start looking again", to then having to postspone it again.

Where as I don't relish the thought of being messed around by sellers again I just wish that the spanner would get stuck in someone elses life!

On the bright side I suppose I do know that by the time I am 60 I will have got my horsey!! (I am 35 soon!! lol)

Well, so long as you could afford to bring ned back here it shouldn't be too much of a problem... It's not like you'd be taking ned from one temperature extreme to another (or not horrendously so). How long would his contract be for? And whilst it's brill opportunity, does that mean for all of you? I ask all these questions because it is the kind of thing that pops up in my working life - so far I've turned down contracts in Khazakstan, Afghanistan, and the UAE because whilst fascinating, none of those countries would have been right for the family of humans, never mind the neds!

.

Initially it would be a contract for a year. I hear the education is fab over there for the kids, the money is fab and the experience would also benefit his career.

oh dear id hang fire if you buy 1 you may have the heart ache of selling it before you go or loaning it out

then youd worrie it wasnt being cared for im sure youl get 1 when you settle 1 day and it will be worth the wait

Well, it is rotten timing but if you weren't looking for a horse, would you be excited about going to a new country and experiencing all it has to offer, even just for a year?

There are always horses - you could still ride in Norway even if you didn't have your own and if OH keeps his contract then you could look at buying one there.

35! You have plenty of time - I didn't get my first horse until I was 40

Sense being sense...I know I have to wait till hubby gets a yes or no.....just wish they would get back to him so we know one way or the other.

Thanks for "listening" !

I would start looking at prices/what's available - and also keep a copy of ones you think are just right and ordinarily you'd try to view. Then should he not get the Norway job you've something to ring up about and see if still for sale - advert may have finished, they might think they''ll readvertise in the Spring etc.
