Got the vet out today as rock is still lame and we found the cause of the problem after nerve blocks and various exercises. Rock has an extreme infection in his hoof, called white line disease, as well as thrush in his frog cleft. This would have developed over time so very annoyed farrier didnt see this!! Hes now on antibiotics as well as a supplement and 3types of wash including hydrogen peroxide, is shoeless until monday and out of work for 2weeks, when we can walk him for a week, then trot him up and if hes sound go back into work. Right at the beginning of the busiest month of my life! Still at least we've found out whats wrong, my poor lad.
