Not very exciting, but I do think he looks super gorgeous, but obviously I'm biased!!

I thought I was doing really well with my new bit but he was pretty much back to BAU the next time... *sigh*

Do you think he is looking well?

Thanks x

Lovely and VERY white

Whats BAU

Business as usual! i.e. Pulling like a train! I have stuggled on with a snaffle for years and posted about a change of bit the other week.

I can't believe how white he is now!! I am just looking at a pic of him as a 6yo and he looks like a completely different horse!! Steel grey and a skinny bean!! I do think he has improved with age. ;-)

He's looking very well! Am jealous of everyone's hunting pics and reports as I'm not out this season :( If I'm lucky I might manage a couple of days as a visitor but that's it.

What's the problem with the bit? Do you always ride in a plain cavesson noseband? If you're struggling with him being strong, have you tried a different noseband? I'd have ended up in the next county if I'd hunted my big horse without a flash.

Because that’s just how it goes! I like to look smart but I do think there are some silly rules with turnout! I also don’t believe in hairnets.. such a rebel! ;-)

Jen I forgot my gloves, my mum went back for them. I had a tricky situation out hacking the other day and having to wrap slippy rains around hands to hold onto him… definitely need gloves hunting!!

With my brakes, I hunted him for ages in a flash and then a grackle but then ended up taking it off for some reason.. I think it was because I discovered he liked it a lot better not having his mouth shut (i.e. flat work) and then I just stayed with the caverson. Didn’t make a huge amount of difference I don’t think. I think when I get used to two reins I’ll be a bit better as the gag rein definitely works but I end up getting a bit mixed up sometimes. It’s mainly jumping while we are running where I have issues because I can’t get him back to what I think is an acceptable speed so we end up doing a few diversions an mini laps around fields!

No hairnet!

Perhaps you are a contender to do away with the blue coat and sensibly adopt the High-Viz Florescent look? Or perhaps you are not quite the rebel you would like to think you are?
