We went to our local agricultural show yesterday that had some BSJA.

It was pretty awful really!! Ground was very deep, it was fairly hilly and and the warm up was even deeper and tiny!! So didn't bother with that too much!!

Went in for 1m open, he jumped really well considering and went clear.

We had to wait around for ages because the 10 people in the class decided not to turn up in time for the 1.45 start!!!

Eventually they all turned up... and there were only 2 clears.

Looked at the JO and it said 1,2,3,4ab,5,6,7 - so nice and easy to remember!

I went in first, jumped one and two, turned to three and the number was turned around in the middle - like it is when the fence isn't in the JO.... so I was a bit confused!! Decided not to jump it and carried on, but unfortunatly we got a bit fast and had 2 down.

Still wasn't sure what was going on and thought I might be eliminated as it definitely had 3 on the board - when the other girl went in the course builder went and spoke to her and I assume told her #3 wasn't in it - a bit of a cock up there me thinks!! Anyway she went clear so 2nd place for us - but we won £40!!!

Didn't really want to go in the 1.10 as the ground was so poo, but thought I might as well as it was probably my last BSJA show for a while. Probably shouldn't have bothered cos we had three down! I think he did quite well considering the conditions, and I didn't get too scared which is good - 1.10 scared me to death acouple of months ago!!

I think we need to work on having a bit more control at that height, the courses seem to get a lot more twisty!

I don't reckon they will bother having any SJing there next year - there was 10 in the 1m, they merged the 1.10 and NC and had a grand total of 5 in that!! Not sure if anyone showed up for the 1.25. Tis a shame! I guess people just don't want to jump on grass - especially if it's muddy and hilly!

Thanks for reeding!

I suppose jumping in deep mud might stand you in better stead for BE than constantly jumping on a surface?

Well done £40 is a definite result and it sounds like Badger's jumping is really coming on. I think half the open BSJA horses in Yorkshire were at Port Royal with me, chasing £200 cash prizes!
