Good morning,

Staying on the campsite at Badminton for the first year this year, has anybody stayed before? What are the facilities like?

Would be grateful of any feedback!

Take flip shops for showers and toilets There are queues in the morning for showers, but not in the evening - so we tend to use in the evening. Don't buy any food in the campsite shop as it is ridiculously expensive. We go every year and have a great time, very relaxed and loads of lovely people.

If you are a light sleeper or like to go to bed early\not get up at the crack of dawn then pack some ear plugs. Its not too bad in the lorry\caravan sections, but if you end up near the chip van (or one paticular Ag. college who come every year, but will remain nameless) or are on the general camping bit it can be very noisy until 2-3am.

If you have a large tent or caravan awning, make sure you have the storm guys for it with some decent heavyweight pegs. It is nearly always really windy and lots of people come back to find things have collapsed\blown down.

Also it can be quite a hike to the taps for water, depending on which pitch you get, so make sure you can carry your water container easily when full (unless you have an aquaroll).

You will have fun though! We are going for about the 10th time this year, started off camping and then upgraded to the horsebox. This year because I am pregnant, and have sold my lorry, we have treated ourselves to a campervan with its own shower & toilet, so its gonna be a luxury break for once!

A final thought, bring your own loo roll\hand sanitiser. They are really good at keeping the toilets stocked up, but first thing in the morning and on the showground on XC day its good to take your own!

I have said I will camp if its not raining ;) if its raining I am going home to my bed ;) ;) :D not camped before though so no help whatsoever. must say hi at some point shazza :)

Thanks for the comments on the site!

Dont think we will be too worried about the noise - hopefully the new club pub will stay open pretty late anyway!

The tip with the water carrier is a good one - thank you hadnt really thought about that!

And I may well of attended the ag college you are talking about!!! Lol!
