Posted orginally in latest news, I meant to post in lounge- sorry!

Does anyone know more about the dog crèche?

We are off to Badders tomorrow (Friday) and trying to work out what’s best for our dog, leave him or bring him along. Originally we had planned to leave him with my brother – but now he’s off to France for the weekend at the last minute, so it would make it a long day home alone.

It would be great fun to take him but we do want to see some dressage and the stallion parade – that’s the reason we were originally going to leave him at home, we are not planning a big shop!! We also would like to walk some of the course and have a picnic that’s the bit he’ll love.

Any one any experience of using the dog crèche. How long can they stay playing for? And can they go in twice i.e. once so we can see some dressage and then again for the stallions? He’s a very socialable little chap – only 9 months old so it would be one big party!

I used the creche at Burghley , I had to take quite a young pup as OH decided to go out for the day

I carried her round the shops and we walked, stopped watched and picniced our way slowly round part of the XC.

She had a ball in the creche, it was very well organised, I just put an old sweater in with her so she had my smell and she curled up and went to sleep. When I came back after 2 hours she was being cuddled by the staff.

She also came home with a goody bag full of treats.

I would thououghly recommend it if is a similar set up.

Arrrgh home from home then, he has a cage aka his 'den' at home - door is usually open but he is happy when he is shut in if we have lots of visitors etc. I will take him some toys or even better get him some new ones at Badders first. Love the idea about the sweater just need to wear one first I don't mind him destroying...terriers!!

Thankyou both for you help. 2 hours of dressage in one sitting is enough for me!!

I can tell you all about this, as I help to run it last year! It's run by university of Bristol vet students and dogs can go in for 2 hours at a time. They can go in again, but you must take them away for a bit of a walk about first! I'm pretty sure we put pairs of dogs in cages together last year.

does anyone know where abouts the dog creche area will be? i'm bringing my two dogs now which wasn't planned but have been let down by dog sitter, they'd be fine together in a cage for a hour or two.
