What variety is there? Can't decide about taking food or just getting it there (I know it'll be expensive!)

Also do they have food places all round course or just near main arena??

Thanks xx

Take a picnic. nothing better than munching on a butty walking from jump tp jump. we took it in a bsck pack . And if sunny pick a good vantage point sit eat and enjoy :) so jealous not going this year :(

they have a few burger and fish and chip vans and baked potato all round the course usually, however if you want more variety you'd have to go back to the food court. There you could pretty much get anything from a sandwich to a hog roast, with the usual in between lol There is also a little food thing in the shops just round from the world of the horse which had like chicken wraps and freshly made burgers and stuff which smelled amazing today!

I am going Sunday to the XC never been before so can't wait, but as it's going to be so niee we are taking a picnic :D

Catering stands all over the place! There is a huge variety if you look around.

Part of my event ritual is getting my Smokey Special at lunchtime from Inverawe Smokehouses. I also take a cool bag to bring home some pies from Lime Tree Pantry or show offers from Supreme Sausages.

Take your cold drinks with you, but I would treat yourself when it comes to the food!

You usually get your burgers, baked potatoes, hog roast, coffee shop and ice cream dotted around regularly (and a couple of bars). They're all ok, but pricey and usually have huge queues - right when someone you want to watch is going by but you can't quite see!

We usually take a rucksack with a picnic blanket and a chiller section and picnic on the way round. You will get bits and bobs for picnics in the foodseller's aisle beforehand, or even in one of the numerous M&S Simply Food shops in the motorway services (just about every one has that or a Waitrose nowadays).

There's food available at every end of the course and a wide range available in the shopping village but honestly I'd take your own. Dressage days definitely use the tradestands but Sunday its so busy and you don't want to be wasting valuable XC-viewing time in a queue (no lunch break at Badminton unlike Rolex). Its expensive too.

But I'd treat yourself to a cake or sweet treat instead from somewhere in the afternoon to reward all that walking! There's an incredible cake stand in one of the marques, can't remember which one and Festival of Food has so much choice.

Cheers, actually just heard from sister in law who's decided she's taking a big picnic for all of us so I'll just get something for breakfast when I get there and take along some nibbly bits to tide me over.

SO EXCITED :-)

Think may of just found the cake stand on badminton website, looks awesome!!

Also just seen that help for heroes have a stand there which is fab, one of my favourite charities.

Good job I'm getting there early, well before XC starts :-))

We always take our own food, as it gets expensive otherwise. A one ltr bottle of Pimms is on special offer at the supermarkets now, so will be taking 4 ltrs ready made up, as at £25 a jug, there is no way I can afford it!! There is something nice about tucking into a homemade picnic!! Strawberries and clotted cream in there too, along with parma ham and cream cheese rolls and marinated olives and feta, yummy!!

IF I go I'm taking some bottles of water and some crisps then buying a hot dog or similar from a burger van or something for lunch.

Hoping I do get to go...
