You're making me very jealous!!!!!

Never mind teapot ...Peeps like you & I can have a lie-in Saturday morning & think of all those poor, crazy nutters going to be sat in traffic-jams & fighting their way through the hideously over-packed shopping arcade.

I would leave dogs at home if you possibly can.

You risk having your car/lorry 'can opened' to have them removed if you leave them in it plus they must stay on leads, cannot go into the grandstands or the hospitalities. Bear in mind that saturday and sunday is heaving with tens of thousands of pairs of feet and its a very very busy atmosphere for a dog to try and negotiate.

You will also have to carry round poo bags all day as fouling in the tradestand areas is highly frowned on....not nice skidding about the shops in sh*t.

I've never understood why people want to take their dogs to things like this. I suppose it's a bit different if you just want to walk round the course etc. The shopping bit at Badminton was heaving last year (fairly normal I would say) and the number of small dogs I saw being dragged round, being trampled on etc as it is very hard to see small dogs when you are packed in a crowd of people. Poor things looked terrified.

The only day i take my dogs is wednesday when we walk the course, its fairly quite and once out on the course we let them off their leads, I would Never take them any other day as they will limit where you can go and if the weather stays nice it will be tough on the dogs walking around on leads all day. You cant leave the dog in your lorry as the RSPCA will break the window and take it out, we have enlisted a dogwalker for the 4 days so we can leave them at home in the cool and not have to worry about them. Sounds like you will all have a great time with or without the dog!

dogs are a toughy - plenty of people take them onto the camp site and they seem to fair well on the XC day but its a bit of a mare on the SJ/Dressage days as they cannot go into the grandstand. There is a dog sitting service but I think its a max of 2 hours per day.

(PS see you there - i'll keep my eyes peeled)
