I have put this in here aswell as not everybody reads the soapbox.
PLEASE check your bank statements. We had a debit card skimmed at badminton.Somebody bought a pair or £200 Durberry boots on the 5th may. Then went on spend our money in tesco's and tried in Italy,America.Luckily our bank stopped any transaction after the Durberry's.They tried run up a total of £800.Please be carefull and vigilant on your cards.

How awful for you. Hope it hasnt ruined the memories of a great time. I went with the intension of spending lots on my card, but fortunately only spent cash. Hope no other poor beggars lost out.

Thanks for the advice. Glad to hear your bank managed to put a stop on your card. I didn't have much cash to take so I DID use my visa debit card to buy a few things so I had better check my statement, tho' it won't arrive until beginning of next month. Perhaps I should contact my bank tomorrow.

Thanks, again.

By skimmed what exactly do you mean? Was it a transaction from a specific stand? I used my card everywhere!!!!!

skimming means that when they took your card to pay for the goods, they also scanned it through a device that Skims the information off the card, the info is the stored and can be used by the skimmer either online or by planting the info into a blank card

Have you let the police know? or is that the responsibility of the bank?

The bank only rang us today as alot of the transactions have only just started to come through for those dates.Yes the police will be informed by the bank.Out of the hundreds of people that were at Badders we cannot be the only ones that were "done".

Oh no how horrible. Just checked mine and I'm fine.
Have you informed badminton themselves so they can not invite that stand back again.

Oh no ...how awful!!
Just tried to PM you but your obviously full up..lol!
Bit worried as my card had a bit of fresh air last week too!!

Would you be able to PM me too please. I *think* I only used my card once and the rest was all cash, but I did intend on using my card more than I did.

Further to this did anyone else use the Thomas Cook cash facility. Please check you card if you did as I think I have a problem too. See below

Ran out of money on Sunday so had to use the Thomas Cook facility to withdraw £10. I was told there was a £2 charge for this which I agreed to. £12 was charged on my card and I was given £10 which I assumed included the fee. However, have just checked my bank account and not only was the £12 debited from my account, but then the next transaction is a £2 charge - see below. I am out of pocket of £14, not £12 as I assumed.

08May07 DEB T COOK RETAIL 0515 CD 9014 06MAY07 12.00

08May07 DEB CASH CHARGE CD 9014 06MAY07 2.00

Am I right in thinking this is wrong and if anyone else used it please check your account too.
