Last year my wonderful sister was going to treat me to a trip to Badminton as my birthday present (yes, she is always that nice), it would have been the first time for both of us in about thirty years:eek:. Just received a text to say that she has booked flights, we don't live in the UK, and a hotel so I just had to book tickets. Went to the website and the box office is closed for advance bookings. I'm guessing that entry on the day won't be a problem but what about seating for the final day and Badminton radio? Also are there big screens up to watch the final showjumping?

I think usually the SJ sells out - We have had to book early before.
I am turning up on the day on Friday and hope to get in ok!

Yes they have big screens - and you should be able to 'walk in' every day buying a ticket at the gate.

I think you might not get the best SJ tickets though.

You should be able to get into the ground on the day, I've never heard of people being turned away. You will need cash to hand over at the gate, you will have to pay to park the car, and for the entry of all people.

If you are going to the whole thing, you can get season ticket for both on the gate on the Friday, which is a pretty good saving. The prices should be on the website. A word of warning, on XC Day try to be in by 8am or the queues are truly horrible.

As for a grandstand ticket for the showjumping, ask at the box office on your first day (if you buy a programme its clearly marked on the map) incase its not sold out. Otherwise you can queue for returns on the Monday morning, as they allow people to sell back spare tickets to be resold to the queue. If you get there early you probably have a fair chance of getting some.

Alternatively there are a couple of big screen, conveniently placed next to beer tents where you can watch for free.

Badminton radio, car parking and entrance can all be bought on the day, don't worry! :D

You can try the box office for SJ tickets, get there early and queue. If you don't get tickets it is not the end of the world, you can sit by all the bar tents and watch it on the big screen :)

I rode around there on Saturday and it is looking great, getting excited now!

Thank you all for the help. Big screens near the beer tent sound fab, Ill just make sure that I'm not doing the driving that day. I'm so excited as its the probably the last year we'll be able to go together as at the end of May horses and sister move into a new house and the horses will be with her instead of at livery, so one of us will always be horse-sitting. We were hoping it would be ready at the beginning of May but that particular cloud turns out to have a great silver lining:D.
Trade stands beware - our list is loooong.
