Bagging up 303 days. Advice on pics please.

My mare is 303 days. She has started to bag up and has got dips in her flanks and her muscles beside her tail are going floppy. Is this normal?

Any advice from breeders more experienced this week would be much appreciated.

Sorry guys, for some reason although the pictures are saved as small on photobucket the last 2 wont come out small on H&H. And I have tried 3 times.

My mare bagged up around the same time and foaled at 327 days, everything was fine.
My other mare is 309 days today and has a bigger bag, i think your mare has alot more filling to do yet, she seems to have more swelling infront .

My mare had huge bags by 300 days and was waxed up not long after. She has a lovely huge colt foal at 332 days after making me worry till she was past 320!!

Yes, hate to tell you but that is not fully bagged up, I'd say you have a way to go!! Bagging up can start as early as 6 weeks prior to foaling, sometimes even earlier, so I wouldn't panic quite yet.

I agree that she doesn't look fully bagged up yet. We have a mare that is starting to develop a bag at 270 days. We had a mare with placintitis have a still born foal last year so we started to panic when saw this mare start to bag up so early. Had the vet out and have started her on Ab, even though on the scan placenta all looks ok on scan. Foal was having a great playtime when vet trying to scan - we kept seeing it's eye coming in to focus!! We would love her to have waited till 303 days to start to bag up.
