So, I get a message off Gamebird asking if I go out with the VoL, no I reply, but I do know them and they are our neighbours. Turns out Gamebird has been invited out, so I offer to lend her 'an orse' and make arrangements to visit.
Cue many many hours of paid employment and finally retiring to bed at 1am on Wednesday, back up at 6am to plait and polish TB's x 2. Arrives at the meet in plenty of time to meet Gamebird and introduce her to her horse (Emerald), into the pub for a quick warm via a glass of port.
Back to the trailer, tack up and mooch over to the centre of the car park where Sov proceeded to tit about like a proper wally, while Emerald (3rd time hunting) stood like a lamb!
Eventually we set off, and had a good canter a couple of streams to cross and then the first of the hunt jumps, more jumping, more canter/galloping.
A really good day, one thing we did notice is there was lots of gates and hares (and harrier hounds) do really run in circles!
Out for approx 4 hours in glorious sunshine
