Bahrain no longer endurance world champions

Bahrain has lost their place as 2022 endurance world champions after a doping case.

Thoroughly confused by the timeline if I’m honest. Championship was 4 months ago, and news of the horse having tested positive was available in March already. Why would it take so long for them to finally take the medal from Bahrain, unless the doping concerns went much deeper than this one horse, rider and trainer?

I think they have to provide a sample to the accused and allow them to get it analysed themselves, and if so that might well have slowed things up.
