Although I don't condone bailing anyone accused of murder. I doubt there is any conspiracy, the charges in the two cases were rather different - although Bryan Griffiths is charged with a more serious case he hasn't been accused of tampering with witnesses and I don't think he had previous convictions so is probably considered to be a lower risk. Added to that his prosecution team are applying to have the charges reduced down to manslaughter.

On the other hand part of the case against Otis (subsequently dropped) was trying to persuade prosecution witnesses to change their evidence and they propbably felt the case could be jeopardised by letting him out.
