Another update on how The Gay One is getting on
Today we started off with some gentle lunging, not too much, just to make sure he was remembering what he had learnt already. He walked on when I asked, stopped and stood when I asked and moved out when asked
He was very good and understood what I asked him; there were a couple of times when he got a little bit distracted when he could hear horses coming down the road (the indoor school is near to the road so can easily hear horses going past) but he wasn't silly and listened to me again when I asked.
We then put some poles out again and long reined him for the second time, initially with someone walking by his head and then without anyone with him
He did realise that he could "pull" but he stopped after being told off
He turned left and right, round onto circles and a figure of eight (all large, not tight turns) and stopped and walked on when asked.
I was so proud of him; this is the second week of his backing and any time you introduce him to something new he is just like, "oh ok...let's play!" He just isn't fazed by what I ask of him, and once he has got the idea of what he is being asked, he just gets on with it.
Such a good little horse
Thanks for reading; hoping to have some pictures of Bailey in action this week
