Hi

Have any of you guys experience of using these?

I have been recommended Baileys balencer (would it be a Youngstock balancer?) for just weaned foals. I have used Tope Spec in the past but wondered if anyone had any thoughts.

These foals are going to be big (ranging from 16 - 17hh) and are WB x TB types in the main.

Thanks for any advice!

i have been using baileys stud balancer over the summer on my warmblood yearling and have been really pleased with how he looks. it works out quite cost effective as well!

yes, I have used topspec and with unwelcome results. My big filly developed OCD which allthough I can't blame the topspec entirely I'm sure it was a contributing factor. From now on I just feed fibre with either access to a vitamin and mineral lick (like the dengie stable licks) or broad spec vit and min supp added to chaff and some speedibeet (add a bit of soya oil for coat shine)

Weaning is a particularly susceptable time for the incidence of growth related disporders so I would be particularly careful about feeding high protein diets during this period

I have been using the same on my appaloosa yearling this summer as he didn't get the spring grass to improve him and this has helped him to change from a camel into a nice little youngster. Although he has taken to jumping the electric fencing - so perhaps an unwanted side-effect!! - Anyone want to buy a budding show-jumper?

Have just recentlyhad the lovely Baileys rep out - well worth the time and no hard sell either.

I am now using their stud balancer for my mares and youngstock and am happy so far :D

I use Topspec and have done for a number of years now. I have 2 yearlings who I've had on their stud balancer since they were on hard feed. The mares are on the comprehensive balancer, unless in foal when they are on the stud balancer, I use some of their other products as well, I am a big fan. If I were you I'd look at both the ingredients, look at how much of each you have to feed & try them out for yourself. There are some people that love Bailey's & some that love Topspec.
