I am presuming you mean whats it like to feed? What sort of work is the horse doing, whats its temperament etc like? It is a fast release feed, so high in starch so can cause a spurt of energy. However, as with all baileys feeds, it is good quality and the horses will look well on it, but I wouldnt feed it to anything except a horse in proper hard work, 3DE or hunting a couple of times a week.
I think there are better feed for occasionally competition horses
Oats are fine, and arent actually that heating, and are the most fibrous of all grains. However, the mixture of ingredients in the comp mix means it is quite a starchy feed
when i first had her she went loopy on mollassed chaff
but shes ok on that now
she just seems to need pepping up a bit occasionally, but i can never tell until i get on her!
what is she fed at the moment? I would keep off sugary or starchy feeds, and stick to high oil and high fibre to give constant energy as opposed to peaks of energy
What about Baileys cool mix or Conditioning cubes? Mine is on that and he doesnt heat up or really get fizzing anymore. But he does look really well on them
I have the opinion that horses only gets fizzed up if they are getting too much feeding - you could maybe try her on a scoop of conditioning cubes and see. If she doesnt have the sparkle she might be lacking something to give her that extra boost?
