Hi,

have been feeding my boy spillers lite balancer but feed store didn't have any so have go baileys lo cal instead.

Usually only feed one cup of balancer in pm really as a top up as dont feed recommended amounts of the veteran vitality that he on. Also has topspec top chop.

My question is that on the bag of lo cal it says to feed 3 mugs of it for horses over 15hh. This seems quite a lot alongside his feed.

What does everybody else feed?

Normally they suggest that you feed 100g per 100kg of bodyweight.

So for a 500kg horse, you'd feed 500g.

When I fed this in the past, I found out using my weighing scales, that one of those small glass ramakins held 100g, so i would feed 4 1/2 of these for my 450kg pony. :)

I think I feed approx 2 mugs/day to 525kg horse. I had a free tub of dodson & horrell surelimb so used that, but really noticed the difference after 1 wk back on the lo-cal. I love the stuff. If horse needs more condition then I increase the amount she has (up to 4 mugs), so I guess I'm feeding less than recommended. She is a TB on lo-cal, Alfa-A and a slow release energy mix.
